Meet Professor of composition Eleanor Aversa who teaches at the Berklee School of Music in Boston!  She is working this year with our students to learn about composing music and to model for our students that women, as well as men, work as composers!  Eleanor just led a two hour workshop with our students on ways to start composing.  This workshop is part of a bigger project designed to bring more awareness of women who “dared to compose” and have been left out of history.  Between our students and her composition students, we are creating elementary level arrangements of symphonies, opera, oratorio, choral music, piano concertos and chamber music written by notable female composers such as Hildegard von Bingen, Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Amy Beach, Florence Price and many others.  Here is our studio featured on Eleanor Aversa’s professional website!
