January 29 - February 3

During the Week at the Studio:  Monday, January 29th to Saturday, February 3, 2018.Our next project is the first of many steps that will lead to our major project of the year…one that will involve every single student, no matter how young and new at the piano and will give every other continuing student a major incentive to practice, participate and improve.  I won’t lay it all out now…but let me throw a few words out to tantalize you:  collaboration with the Newburyport Chamber Music Festival; Albania; raising money through practicing to send much needed piano music overseas; the music of Hungarian composer Bartok; front row seats to a house concert by Bulgarian pianist Anna Stoytcheva; a student oriented masterclass with Anna; a composer statuette and a suitcase packing party with recital.

The first step is:  I need my students and you, the family, to help choose what music Anna Stoytcheva will perform in Newburyport on Saturday April 7, 2018, at 8:00pm at the Faria/Girard house on High Street.  Mark your calendars now!

Everyone please listen to these two masterfull, utterly famous, mind-blowing piano preludes by the Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff and vote…send me your family tally…to hear either the Prelude No. 2  or the Prelude No.5 on April 7th!!!  Even if you think you may not be able to come to the concert, do vote anyway!

You can’t go wrong…these are both equally famous!  But you get to choose this part of the concert program!

Here are the links on You Tube.  I need your input by Saturday February 3rd!

Have fun listening as a family!
