Practice to share our love of music with others who need piano books!

April 2 - May 12
313 Merrimac Street

Monday, April 2nd, 2018 through Saturday, May 12th, 2018, for six weeks, our students will sign up sponsors who will pledge to give them three cents for every minute the can document their practicing during this 6 week period.  Our goal is to raise enough money to send 5 suitcases of music through Bettina and David Turner who live in Newburyport but work through the Peace Corp in Tirana, Albania.  We learned that there are no music book stores in all of Albania.  If students and musicians want to use music to learn and perform, they must go to a local library and photocopy whatever is available.  There is very little available for the study and introductory material for young people to learn how to play the piano.  Our students will not only purchase music, that are favorites of theirs, with these proceeds, but we will hope to pay the $100.00 airline extra suitcase fee that Bettina and David will have to pay in order to bring music into the country.  Please consider sponsoring one of our students and support their desire to make the world a more desirable and equitable place through music.

Saturday, April 7th, 2018. 10:00am to 11:30am. St. Paul's Episcopal Church, High Street, Newburyport. Ten of our piano students have agreed to perform for professional and lovely Bulgarian pianist Anna Stoytcheva!  But our whole studio is encouraged to come and attend and support these students and listen and learn ourselves as Anna coaches them to play expressively and beautifully at the piano.  We will all learn a great deal, not only about music, but about the life that Anna leads as a professional pianist; her childhood in Bulgaria and her life now in the United States.  All students will have an opportunity to ask Anna a question and to get her autograph on their own music, with words of encouragement for all! Free.
